How do I apply for a berth?

Are there any security measures in place at the marina?
Yes, significant CCTV surveillance, gated access, and regular patrols. Berth holders will have access to 24-hour camera view of their vessel. However, the vessel owners are ultimately responsible for the security of their vessel and insurance is obligatory.
What types of vessels do you accept?
Our marina is primarily for leisure craft, with a small number of berths available for vessels involved in education, training, or safety provision.
Vessel sizes accommodated from 6m to 8m generally with limited availability for larger vessels up to 10m.
Yes - free on street parking immediately at the Marina with a 1Hr limit. Unlimited on street, free parking only 50m away from the Marina entrance.
Public toilets at the Market Square are only 300m away
What are the annual berthing fees?
Fees are £300 per metre (with a minimum charge based on a 6m vessel).
All fees must be paid annually in advance.
The berthing fee includes the Port of Tyne Harbour Authority registration charge. While the Marina will handle the registration and make payment to the Harbour Authority on behalf of all berth holders, each berth holder is still responsible for providing the necessary vessel and ownership details as required by Port of Tyne Byelaw 41.
Is insurance required?
Yes, all vessels must be fully insured, including third-party liability cover. Proof of insurance will be required before a berthing agreement is finalised..
Are spaces guaranteed once I submit an enquiry?
No, spaces are limited and submitting an enquiry does not guarantee a berth but you will be added to our waiting list.
